5 Tips for Booking a Photo Booth for Your Wedding

Short answer

Five wedding photo booth planning tips: pick the right booth, book hours around your timeline, choose prints or digital sharing, place the booth well and know your price.

A photo booth works best when it is planned like any other part of your wedding. These five tips cover the decisions that matter most, from choosing the booth to deciding how long it should run.

1. Pick the booth that matches your wedding’s style

Each of our booths gives your reception a different feel. The VW Photo Bus is a centerpiece, the Glam Booth suits an upscale reception, the Mod Booth is open-air so friends and family can crowd into the frame, and the Traditional Booth is the classic enclosed experience with printed strips. Not sure which fits? Read our guide to choosing a photo booth.

2. Book your hours around your timeline

Guests use the booth most when they are free to wander, such as during cocktail hour and the dancing. We suggest 3 to 4 hours for most weddings, enough to cover those stretches. If dinner and toasts run long, 4 hours keeps the booth running when the party picks up. See how many hours of photo booth rental you need for a sample wedding timeline.

3. Decide between prints, digital sharing, or both

The Mod, Traditional, Glam, Vogue and VW Photo Bus packages include custom photo strip prints, so guests leave with a keepsake. The Glam Booth, Vogue Booth and VW Photo Bus also include social media upload. If your guests will mostly share online, the Social Booth is digital-first, with branded GIFs, slow motion video, Boomerang video, and delivery by email, text and social media.

4. Think about where the booth will go

Choose a spot guests will naturally walk past, such as near the cocktail area or the dance floor, rather than a far corner they have to seek out. Tell us your venue when you request a quote, and we confirm your date, timing and setup with your request.

5. Know your price before you send a request

On each booth page you can choose your hours and add-ons and watch the price update, so there are no surprises. Packages start at $450 for 2 hours on the Mod and Traditional booths and $700 on the Glam Booth, and the VW Photo Bus starts at $1,200 for 3 hours. See every booth’s price in one table, then request your quote with your wedding date.
